However, it's inconceivable for Doncic to foul out, especially in such a crucial moment late in the fourth quarter, with the game slipping away from Dallas in a 106-99 defeat. As a cornerstone of the Dallas Mavericks, his presence is simply irreplaceable.

Doncic was sidelined for the final 4:12 of the fourth quarter after accruing his sixth foul, with the Boston Celtics leading 93-90. He had picked up his fifth foul just 26 seconds earlier and expressed frustration at the concept of fouling out in such a crucial game. "You know, six fouls in the NBA Finals, basically I'm like, ‘C'mon, man. Better than that," he remarked.

However, the Mavs' dire need for Doncic on the court rendered his absence irrelevant. It marked just the third time in his career that he fouled out. During those crucial minutes without their All-NBA guard, the Mavs were outscored 13-9.
